Chelsea transfer news: Fresh claim emerges over 'interest' in £25m star

According to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook, a lot of Premier League clubs ‘have an interest’ in Chelsea striker Armando Broja amid continued speculation over his future.

The highly-rated 20-year-old is currently enjoying a season-long loan spell at Southampton and appears to have caught the eye of several potential suitors with a string of impressive displays.

Since arriving at St. Mary’s, Broja has scored seven goals and provided one assist in 21 appearances for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s charges, firing them 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

Hasenhuttl has openly expressed his desire to keep the 10-cap Albania international at the club beyond the current campaign, claiming he ‘loves’ being on the south coast.

“He loves it here. It would be great if he was our player, he wants to be with us I think, you can feel this in every moment,” said the Austrian tactician.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed last month that Southampton were preparing a £25 million move for Broja, but no deal was reached.

TuttoMercatoWeb also claimed Newcastle United were a €40 million (£33.3m) bid for the clinical forward.

However, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel labelled Broja ‘our player’ in a recent press conference and challenged him to make a ‘statement’ at Southampton this season.

Broja first made his mark in the senior ranks during a 12-month loan stint at Vitesse Arnhem, providing 14 goal contributions in 34 outings last term for the Dutch side.

And Crook believes multiple Premier League clubs will now have the 6 foot 3 gem on their radar after he carried that good form into the top-flight.
