Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani is on Real Sociedad’s wanted list.
And the Uruguayan veteran fancies a crack at La Liga after spending the best years of his career in Italy, France and England.
Cavani, 34, has been a huge disappointment to United this season after agreeing to stay another year when the Reds offered him a £200,000-a-week salary.
He has scored just two goals in 21 appearances and has gone missing a number of times for mysterious reasons. Sociedad want to take him to Spain in the summer.
There is also interest from Inter Milan, while Argentine giants River Plate have enquired about a move closer to his South American roots.
Cavani seemed destined for Buenos Aires before Sociedad came calling. He has held talks with the Spanish club and liked what they had to offer.
Sociedad have a history of signing Uruguayan players and they have told Cavani he will get minutes on the pitch as they plan to sell Swedish international Alexander Isak to Barcelona.
Cavani has scored 19 goals in 56 appearances for United since arriving from Paris St Germain in October 2020 after the French club failed to renew his contract. He has also played for Italian clubs Palermo and Napoli after moving to Europe almost 12 years
