Ebbsfleet United post £2.8million loss for the financial year ending May 29, 2024
Ebbsfleet United’s latest set of accounts show the club lost £2.8million when they retained their National League status in 2023/24.
The Fleet’s financial figures, for the year ending May 29, 2024, show a loss of £2,839,729, compared to £1,930.281 in the previous 12 months. It brings their overall losses to £22.8million.
On the field, the Fleet replaced manager Dennis Kutrieb with Danny Searle early in 2024 and successfully stayed up on the last day of the season following a goalless draw at Boreham Wood.
For the second consecutive year, the company's directors have elected not to include a copy of the profit and loss account with their financial statements.
However, the club provided details on their finances prior to the accounts being published at Companies House.
“Total revenue for the season 2023/24 showed a decrease of £28,000,” said the club statement. “Commercial activities and revenue actually increased during the season but a poor campaign in the National League on the pitch resulted in reduced cup revenues and matchday turnover.
“Costs for the season increased by £882,000. Of this, £499,000 was related to greater player and management-related costs in a promoted season at the higher level which were subsequently further affected by the change of management and the relegation battle.
“Further additional increases were in travel costs as a result of promotion into the National division, together with increased admin and staff costs which included loan interest and further growth of and investment into the Women’s football programme.
“Overall trade and other debt increased in 2023/24 by £5.7m; however, of this, £2.9m was for expected amounts owed to group companies and a further £2.7m is directly related to the
