Ebbsfleet United manager Dennis Kutrieb on winning National League South title and 3-0 home win over Oxford City

Ebbsfleet United manager Dennis Kutrieb was thrilled to win the National League South title for the club’s supporters.

The Fleet needed only a point on Good Friday against Oxford City but sealed their crown with four game to spare as Dominic Poleon hit a hat-trick in a 3-0 win at Stonebridge Road.

They were presented with their winners’ medals and the league trophy immediately after the game.

“What a support it has been,” stated Kutrieb. “Everyone was celebrating with us at the end, over 3,000 people and no-one went home. That’s what you love to see as a manager.

“Of course, I enjoy it but it means so much for so many people who have supported the club for 20, 30, 40 or 50 years. They will be even happier than me and I’m over the moon.

“You can see how much it means for the people. We’ll really enjoy this as it was hard work.”

Ebbsfleet have now gone 19 league games unbeaten since their disastrous double defeat to Dartford over the festive period.

It’s been a remarkable return to form for Kutrieb’s men, who have blown their competitors away, and goes some way to making up for their Play-off final extra-time defeat at Dorking Wanderers at the end of last season.

“It’s a great feeling,” added Kutrieb. “We’ve been working hard for a long time, there’s been so many twists and turns over the season.

“It’s been amazing, especially from January 1, we haven’t lost a game since then so I would say we’re deserved champions.

“This means a lot coming as a foreigner to another country. You have some adversities and people say ‘you can’t do it’ or ‘you can’t play out from the back’ and some of the other things.
