Early morning news emerges as 'fantastic' Wolves assist machine could now leave today

Wolves youngster Ryan Giles could join Blackburn Rovers on deadline day, according to a fresh transfer update which emerged in the early hours of the morning.

The 22-year-old was loaned out to Cardiff City last summer, with Bruno Lage seeing it as a great opportunity for him to get more minutes under his belt.

Giles made 19 starts in the Championship for the Bluebirds, impressing greatly with his creativity and registering nine assists in the competition.

The midfielder returned from his Cardiff spell earlier this month, but another move away could be on the cards.

According to The Daily Mail, Blackburn want to sign Giles on loan on deadline day, boosting their Championship promotion push in the process.

Tony Mowbray’s side sit second in the table currently and the Wolves man is seen as someone who can further strengthen their chances of a return to the Premier League.

Considering Giles is unlikely to force his way into Lage’s plans between now and May, allowing him to join Blackburn on a temporary basis is a no-brainer.

The youngster was hailed as ‘fantastic’ by Cardiff’s Marlon Pack earlier in the season and a move should only further aid his development as a player.

Wolves are excelling enough in midfield without needing Giles to stay put, with Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves in magnificent form currently. By the summer Moutinho may finally be approaching the end of his incredible time as a sure-fire starter though, when Giles can then step in for the new season.

In other news, another late Wolves transfer claim has emerged. Read more here.
