Early morning M4 crash causes heavy traffic

Part of the M4 was closed after an accident on Thursday morning. Traffic Wales said the eastbound carriageway was closed between junction 36 Sarn and junction 35 Pencoed. Shortly before 6.30am, they warned that the road was closed causing delays.

At 7am they updated the information to say that lanes two and three remain closed and police are on the scene.

Traffic monitoring system Inrix is reporting that the accident happened around 6.15am. After two lanes remained closed, the vehicles involved had been moved to the hard shoulder and all lanes were re-opened by 7.20am.

Traffic quickly returned to normal for the time of day.
