Early leaders Hayes maintain perfect start in Kent League Premier Division with win over Lordswood while Sandwich, Minster, Bexley and Tunbridge Wells are also victorious

Early frontrunners Hayes dismissed Lordswood for just 97 as they maintained their perfect start in the Kent League Premier Division with a 44-run win on Saturday.

Batting first, Hayes were 57-5 at one stage, with Lordswood bowler Touseeq Shah (4-35) doing most of the damage.

But Hayes’ tail wagged as Finlay Baker top-scored with 32, supported by Stuart Eddicott (23), to help them reach 141 all out in the 44th over.

Only Jack Laraman (29) threatened to get going in the Lordswood reply while Andrew Eddicott (3-26) did best with the ball for them.

An impressive run-chase saw second-placed Sandwich earn a six-wicket victory away to Bickley Park.

Krishna Padmanabhan top-scored with 68 out of Bickley Park’s total of 169 all out while overseas David Grant and Jan Gray both ended with figures of 3-29 from 10 overs.

Opener Benji Niewoudt (54) led the Sandwich chase before Tom Burnap (42 not out) and Alex Smith (22 not out) got them home.

Minster beat Sevenoaks Vine by six wickets.

Michael Cowdrey top-scored for Sevenoaks Vine with 56 not out in their total of 171-8 from their 50 overs, with Daniel Masters (3-22) producing economical figures.

In reply, Minster won with eight balls to spare thanks largely to opener Edward Moore (56) and Joseph Parry (45).

Bexley beat bottom side Beckenham comfortably.

George Haley (94 not out) and Matthew Stiddard (64) led Bexley to 242-7 from 50 overs while Junaid Nadir impressed with figures of 3-55 from his nine overs.

In reply, Shaun Evans (4-21) and Freddie Foster (3-24) did most of the damage as Beckenham finished their 50 overs on 146-9, losing by 96 runs.
