EA Sports FC: FIFA president has his say on EA switch

Huge news broke yesterday in the gaming world as it was announced by EA that they were ending their partnership with FIFA and continuing the franchise in a different name of ‘EA Sports FC’.

After nearly 30 years of working alongside each other in creating interactive football experiences, EA are ready to move into a new era, where EA Sports FC will become the future of football for EA. A full statement was released by EA themselves yesterday reassuring fans that everything they know and love in EA’s existing FIFA franchise will be a part of EA Sports FC, including popular game modes such as Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football.

There was also concern from fans about licensing agreements and whether players/teams would remain in the game, which EA cleared up by stating: “Our unique licensing portfolio of more than 19,000+ players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums and 30 leagues that we’ve continued to invest in for decades will still be there, uniquely in EA SPORTS FC. That includes exclusive partnerships with the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, the MLS – and more to come.”

They also let fans know that FIFA 23 will still be going ahead with their current partner as usual and will be are ensuring the next FIFA is their best ever, with more features, game modes, World Cup content, clubs, leagues, competitions, and players than any FIFA title before.

But what does their current partner’s president think about the switch? Find out below.
