DWP payment dates for last bank holiday of May 2023
The third and final bank holiday of May will take place after this weekend.
The spring bank holiday will take place on May 29 which means some benefit payments may change. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) often shifts payment dates around for the bank holiday and can affect benefits such as Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
It comes after people all across the country were able to enjoy an extra day off thanks to the extra May bank holiday from the King's Coronation. However, the upcoming bank holiday means that DWP and HMRC offices will not be open.

Claimants should be aware that if they usually get paid on the 29th, they will be paid on the working day before that date. This means that if you were expecting a payment on Monday, May 29, you will instead receive it on Friday, May 26.
