Dundee vs Rangers pitch inspection announced as Clement demand for quick decision falls on deaf ears

Rangers' trip to Dundee has been cast into doubt once more with Dens Park subject to yet ANOTHER pitch inspection on Wednesday morning.

Philippe Clement is due to take his Light Blues to the City of Discovery for their rearranged fixture but it could be thrown into fresh turmoil with the SPFL announcing that a check on the surface will take place at 11am. The Belgian boss revealed during his press conference earlier today the team will be staying over in Dundee tonight as he branded the situation 'crazy,' asking for a decision to be made the night before the game.

Dundee have already had FOUR games called-off this season due to the weather and with a Met Office Yellow weather warning in place. The weekend clash with Motherwell went ahead following TWO checks on the turf - with Wednesday's midweek clash now subject to the same treatment tomorrow morning.

Speaking earlier today, Clement said: "It's a crazy situation, we are going to travel now and stay (overnight) but we don't know for sure if the game is on. It's a bad situation for the league. We have to find a good solution to get this game played. If it was moved to next week we could find ourselves in the same situation once again if it rains.

"The club has been in talks with Dundee and the league as we want a good football game to go ahead. They are in a battle for the top six, creating a lot of chances. So it will be a big test against a good team."

A Dundee statement read: "This afternoon Dundee Football Club have been in discussion with the league regarding the pitch at The Scot Foam Stadium. Due to the recent heavy rain, it has been agreed that it is in the best interest of all parties if a pitch inspection takes place tomorrow morning at The Scot Foam
