Dundee vs Rangers call-off sees Hibs fire in SPFL complaint over 'sporting integrity' with top six up for grabs

Hibs have held 'robust discussions' with the SPFL over 'sporting integrity' fears after Dundee's postponed clash with Rangers.

The capital club are in a three-way battle with the Dark Blues and Motherwell for a top six finish with Nick Montgomery taking his troops to Fir Park on Saturday and Tony Docherty and his men in action at Aberdeen. Should Dundee lose out in the Granite City and Hibs win they would now face an anxious wait to find out their fate for the final five games. Motherwell can also sneak in with a win and defeats for the newly promoted side at Pittodrie and against Rangers.

Edinburgh Evening News report Easter Road chiefs are far from happy with the scenario currently on the table and postponing the clash until next midweek AFTER the final round of pre-split fixtures has undermined the sporting integrity of the top flight. Not only that but Dundee will now have extra time to prepare for Aberdeen and if things don't go the way they want they would then have an exact idea of what they would require at home to Rangers to stamp their top six ticket.

The postponement of the fixture for a second time has left Rangers furious as they slammed Dundee for 'negligence and unprofessionalism ' in a scathing statement as they demanded SPFL action. The game will now be played on Wednesday, April 17 at 8pm in front of the Sky Sports cameras - in the exact same format tonight's game was supposed to be played.
