Dundee v Hamilton: Accies must take cup final fighting spirit into league clash, says Brian Easton

Brian Easton insists Hamilton Accies will need to take the fighting spirit that earned cup glory with them to Dundee on Saturday to boost their league survival bid.

Accies head to the City of Discovery looking to rediscover some winning form in the Championship after three games without a win left them bottom of the table.

But skipper Easton says their heroic efforts to beat Raith to SPFL Trust Trophy glory can inspire them against a side they drew 1-1 with last month.

Easton said: “We’ll take so much from Sunday, especially the way we played when we went down to 10 men.

“That togetherness and that resolute defending from front to back.

“For me, that made the win even better, the manner it which it came about.

“The fight we showed was great and hopefully we take that into the Dundee game because it is not an easy place to go.

“We know what is at stake and we know what we need to do between now and the end of the season – and that is pick up as many points as we can.

“We want to do that sooner rather than later, and not leave it until the death.

“I hope we come off Sunday’s result and performance with a real lift and a spark so we can end the season flying. We are more than capable of it.”
