Dundee United sack Jack Ross as manager after 9-0 defeat by Celtic
After only seven matches in charge of Dundee United, Jack Ross has been sacked as manager at Tannadice.
Ross, who took charge in June, drew his first Scottish Premiership game at Kilmarnock before a 1-0 Europa Conference League qualifying win over AZ Alkmaar. However, a 1-0 home defeat to Livingston preceded a 7-0 second-leg demolition in the Netherlands, before a 4-1 defeat at Hearts, 3-0 reverse to St Mirren and 9-0 destruction at home to Celtic on Sunday.
“Dundee United can confirm head coach Jack Ross has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect,” read a club statement. “Liam Fox will take charge of the the first team on an interim basis with the focus now fully on Wednesday’s Premier Sports Cup match with Livingston. No further comment will be issued at this stage.”
