Dumfries' Solway Stars compete in World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships

It’s been a busy few weeks for the Solway Stars team since they returned from the World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships in Switzerland.

The 17-strong team from Dumfries were competing against 25 teams from all over the world and finished an impressive 15th with the Stars recording a new world personal best.

This was the second year running the team had been selected by British Ice Skating to represent Great Britain.

The team would like to thank Molly Coxon and Philip Carter and all coaches at Dumfries Ice Bowl.

Special thanks too, to all parents, Solway Sk8ing Club Committee and members, British Ice Skating and Dumfries Ice Bowl for all their help, support and dedication.

They would also very much like to extend their gratitude to the Holywood Trust for their generous financial support throughout the season, all local businesses and individuals who assisted and anyone who made contributions to their GoFundMe Page.

The synchro competition has now come to a close for the season and preparations are well under way for the new season which commences in July.
