Dumbarton loan star Ethan Brown confident that Sons are heading in right direction
Ethan Brown says Dumbarton are heading in the right direction - after seeing the Sons move off the bottom of the League One table.
Victories against Arbroath and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, coupled with the Highlanders being given a 15 point deduction after entering administration, has the third tier table looking rosier for Sons fans.
Kilmarnock loanee Brown, 19, netted his first goal of the campaign in Sons’ victory against Arbroath - despite it initially being reported as a Dylan Smith own goal.
And the Canadian youth international hopes that Sons will now be able to climb the League One table, following a frustrating first-quarter of the season.
He told the Lennox: “Over the break we just got our heads down, continued to work hard and we knew what we’d get from that. It was a hard week, but the win up at Arbroath made it completely worthwhile.
“I thought we deserved the win at Arbroath, we’ve played well for most of the last 10 games and that win was something that was deserved.
“It’s been frustrating not getting the results that we have wanted and with things not going our way. But we’ve stuck together.
“We have a good group of lads, a good manager and a good staff. Now it feels like everything is coming together.
“We’ve made mistakes in games and given team opportunities. Against Arbroath we showed that we’re capable of fighting back from that. It’s definitely coming.
“This group of boys are very, very good. We know that things are turning for us, and the win at Arbroath is the first step in the right direction.”
Brown has caught the eye since signing up at The Rock on a loan deal initially until January, and believes he’s learning plenty from his third loan spell in senior football - following stints with West
