Driver ploughed into car during police chase causing huge collision before running away from scene

A driver ploughed into another car during a police chase before running away from the scene. Officers were pursuing a car after the driver failed to stop in the Westhoughton area of Bolton on Saturday (May 20).

The car then smashed into another vehicle before the driver quickly fled the scene on foot - being chased by officers before he was arrested a short time later.

Dramatic pictures showed the aftermath of the crash, which involved four vehicles, as police and fire crews blocked off Manchester Road in Over Hulton.
