Dramatic moment armed police descend on North Manchester General Hospital

Video footage captured the dramatic moment armed police descended on North Manchester General Hospital on Wednesday (June 5).

Clips shared online showed a number of police vehicles and armed officers arriving at the hospital site, on Delaunays Road, in Crumpsall at around 9am.

The Manchester Evening News understands that it was following threats made to staff by a man. Police were called to the scene as a precautionary measure.

It is understood the man, who was having a mental health episode, was not arrested and police are no longer involved. The hospital staff are now thought to be managing the man.
