Dragons v Scarlets Live: Kick-off time, team news and score updates

The Dragons welcome the Scarlets to Rodney Parade this evening as they look to start 2024 in a better fashion than they finished 2023.

The Men of Gwent were hammered on Boxing Day at the Arms Park by Cardiff, while the Scarlets fell to a home defeat to the Ospreys on the same day - capping a miserable start to the season for both sides.

A year ago, a New Year's Day win over the Dragons proved the turning point in the Scarlets' season and there's a slight reason for renewed optimism with Wales fly-half Sam Costelow welcomed back after injury, while Steff Evans, Morgan Jones and Vaea Fifita are the other changes to the side that were beaten on Boxing Day.

As for the Dragons, Dai Flanagan has made eight changes after the heavy 55-21 defeat to Cardiff - with brothers Jared and Ewan Rosser starting a professional match together for the first time.

Elsewhere, centre Harri Ackerman will make his first Dragons start, while prop Rodrigo Martinez, hooker James Benjamin, lock Sean Lonsdale and flanker Dan Lydiate start. Cai Evans switches to full-back with Will Reed coming in at fly-half.

With both Flanagan and Scarlets coach Dwayne Peel feeling the pressure right now, this is simply a must-win for both sides.

Kick-off is at 5.15pm and you can follow all the action in the live blog below.
