Dover Athletic boss Jake Leberl must do without several key faces for FA Trophy second-round clash with Dorchester at Crabble
Dover head into Saturday’s FA Trophy tie with plenty of starting berths up for grabs.
Whites welcome Dorchester to Crabble for their second-round match when £3,750 in prize money will be at stake.
While boss Jake Leberl is eager for his National League South side to enjoy a run in the competition, with the chance to play at a Wembley final a realistic possibility, they will be without various first-teamers.
Among them will be the cup-tied trio of young striker Rolando Onu, midfielder Bivesh Gurung and defender Finley Marjoram - the former having played in the Trophy on dual registration at Sheppey this season while the latter pair have signed from neighbours Folkestone, with whom they have already been involved in the competition.
Defender Jalen Jones is also expected to be unavailable as he represents Guyana in international friendlies against Bonaire this Saturday and Antigua and Barbuda on Tuesday.
It means Leberl’s squad are likely to be stretched against Southern League Premier Division South side Dorchester, who have won only three times inside 90 minutes since September 20 after last weekend’s goalless home draw with Chertsey.
“A cup run is really important,” admitted Leberl, who was forced to leave midfielder George Wilkinson and left-back Fuad Sesay out of his matchday squad for last weekend’s 4-1 home win against nine-man Enfield.
“You want to win every game so we’ll treat Saturday no differently to how we would treat a league game.
“We’re out to win every game of football we play in. I’d love a cup run, it’s a really good competition because there’s a chance we could go really far.
“Unfortunately, we’re a little bit depleted this week with suspensions, international duty and boys that have already played in
