Doris, Ringrose & Van der Flier up for top European Player of the Year award

Leinster trio Josh van der Flier, Caelan Doris and Garry Ringrose have made the five-man shortlist for the European Professional Club Rugby [EPCR] Player of the Year award.

Leo Cullen's team take on La Rochelle in a mouthwatering Heineken Champions Cup decider at the Aviva Stadium in less than three weeks' time.

Flanker Van der Flier is looking to win the award for the second season in a row, and the World Rugby Men's Player of the Year is joined by fellow back row Doris, as well as in-form centre Ringrose.

The Leinster men have the dynamic Gregory Alldritt for company - the La Rochelle captain has been nominated among the final five for the third year in a row.

Despite the disappointment of his club’s Heineken Champions Cup exit last weekend, no current list of world-class players is complete without the brilliant Antoine Dupont.

The Toulouse captain and 2021 winner is included once again.

The initial 15 nominees have been trimmed to five based on the combined verdict of a panel of judges along with almost 20,000 participants in the public vote.

The winner, and recipient of the Anthony Foley Memorial Trophy, will be announced following the Champions Cup final.

Grégory Alldrit (La Rochelle) Caelan Doris (Leinster) Antoine Dupont (Toulouse) Garry Ringrose (Leinster) Josh van der Flier (Leinster)
