Donny van de Beek makes feelings clear on Everton switch after Man Utd struggles

Donny van de Beek has praised his new Everton teammates for making him "feel so welcome" after he joined the Toffees on a deadline day loan switch from Manchester United.

The 24-year-old has already got two training sessions under his belt as an Everton player and is likely to play a crucial role in their season as new manager Frank Lampard aims to turn club fortunes around after a bleak season so far.

Taking to Twitter, Van de Beek wrote: "Great second session as a Blue (using the blue emoji), Thank you for making me feel so welcome."

While the Dutchman is cup tied for Everton's next fixture which comes in the form of a fourth round FA Cup home clash with fellow Premier League side Brentford, he could feature in their next league contest away at Newcastle next week.

Van de Beek's move to Goodison Park has actually been in the works for some time, with Everton registering an interest in the midfielder over the course of last summer.

However, their advances were eventually rejected by United who wanted to keep hold of the former Ajax prodigy despite using him sparingly.
