Donegal and Meath lead the way in Division 2B

Allianz HL Division 2B

A late Ronan Crowley goal threatened to give London a share of the spoils at Ruislip, but Donegal responded well to claim the the last two scores of the game, and the points on offer in a 1-18 to 2-13 triumph.

The Tír Chonaill men took a five-point lead into the break, thanks in part to an Ronan McDermott goal, but the Exiles made a game of it in the closing stages.

Malcolm Flannery's 38th minute goal set them on their way, but it was the visitors who finished strongest to maintain their perfect start to the campaign.

Padraig O'Hanrahan hit the majority of Meath's scores - including 11 placed balls, and 15 overall - as the Royals joined Donegal on four points with a 0-22 to 1-13 victory over Sligo at Markievicz Park.

Meath had a three-point lead at the break but Sligo brought themselves back into the game when Joe McHugh goalled on 44 minutes. The hosts briefly led, but they would be outscored by 0-08 to 0-01 from there as Seoirse Bulfin's side found another gear.

The visitors finished the game with 14 men after Kyle Donnelly saw red in the closing stages of the second-half.

Elsewhere Wicklow picked up their first points of the campaign with a 0-15 to 0-12 victory over Tyrone.

It was the Garden County who flourished in added time at the end, as they hit the final three scores - a Seanie Germaine 65, and a brace of Diarmuid Masterson scores from play - to secure the victory.

In Division 3A, Fermanagh and Louth picked up their first victories of the campaign.

The Ernesides recorded a 2-18 to 2-16 triumph over Mayo, while it was more straightforward for the Wee County as they overcame Roscommon by 2-16 to 0-15.
