'Don't ask for miracles,' warns Broos as Moroccan lesson looms for Bafana

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos said a miracle result shouldn't be expected against Morocco next week, despite the academic nature of the fixture.

The teams meet in their Group K Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the FNB Stadium with tournament entry done and dusted.

When the teams last met in June last year, Morocco weren't World Cup semi-finalists yet, but still handsomely outplayed Bafana Bafana, despite the deceiving 2-1 scoreline.

They come to South Africa as the best African team at the global showpiece and have picked a full-strength squad to thwart whatever threat Broos' side will pose.

The Belgian was adamant that they can't even begin to be remotely compared to the might that Morocco bring to the table, with Broos hoping for a positive performance.

"When you play against teams like France and Morocco, you have to understand that you're in the weaker team," Broos said.

"Don't for a moment dream that you have as good players as they have. The reality is that they're a much better side than we are at the moment.

"Don't ask for miracles and, even if there's a loss, there should be a good part from that in terms of lessons."

"The game will also be a good test to see where we are as a team, especially after how angry I was after the France game," Broos said, referring to Bafana's 5-0 annihilation in a friendly against the former World Cup champions in Lille last year.

"We've got a very difficult game against a very good opponent, so one must just look at the performance."
