Dominic Calvert-Lewin sends message to Everton amid Arsenal transfer interest

Dominic Calver-Lewin has underlined his commitment to Everton after scoring the winner that confirmed their Premier League survival.

The Toffees found themselves two goals down at half-time against Crystal Palace in their penultimate game of the season on Thursday night.

Roared on by the Goodison Park crowd however, Everton fought back through goals from Michael Keane and Richarlison before Calvert-Lewin’s diving header sealed all three points.

The Everton striker is said to be among Arsenal’s list of striker targets with the Gunners set to lose both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah at the end of the season.

While a new striker is set to be a priority for Mikel Arteta, Calvert-Lewin hopes his winner on Merseyside shows where his priorities lie.

‘What a rollercoaster football is some times,’ Calvert-Lewin told Sky Sports.

‘It is why we love the game and why the fans love it. Ideally we wouldn’t be in the situation we have been but when it produces moments like that, to go from low to high, I’m not sure I’ll sleep tonight.

‘The way they have been welcoming us into the ground is unbelievable. Blue flares everywhere. They have made the difference. When we got the first goal they made the difference.

‘I know some of the fans have questioned my commitment to the club, but I always try my best and I hope my goal shows that today.’
