MICHAEL GANNON: Sticking around long-term isn’t the plan for Celtic or Abada. Best-case scenario is producing the goods short term and being sold for big money when time comes. Celts just need to hope to hang on as long as possible.

FRASER WILSON: It’s a horrible situation for the player who, through absolutely no fault of his own, finds himself caught in the middle of a conflict far more serious than anything to do with football when all he will want to do is play.

MICHAEL: He deserves his place among the modern greats. He picked up 10 trophies in two spells, helped fire Rangers to two Euro finals and played a major role in making the club a credible force again.
