Djokovic, Swiatek, Kyrgios, Halep: Stars named for inaugural World Tennis League

Novak Djokovic and Iga Świątek will headline the first edition of the World Tennis League.

The brand new exhibition event, set to be held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai from December 19th to 24th, has announced an impressive field of tennis stars.

Djokovic and Świątek will be joined by Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, world number 20 Nick Kyrgios and two-time Grand Slam winner Simona Halep.

Sixteen of the world’s most talented tennis players will compete in singles and mixed doubles matches, which will only be two sets.

If a final outcome is needed, a 10-point tie-breaker will be used to decide the winner.

The line-up will be split into four teams of four players in a lottery on November 1st, with the tournament set to be held in a round robin format.

The top two teams will then face off in a final day of matches to determine the overall winner of the World Tennis League.

Ticket holders will also have the chance to stay for concerts from top music artists once the tennis is over.

Dutch DJ superstars Tiësto and Armin Van Buuren are among those set to play at “The Greatest Show on Court”.
