'Devoted' dad Thomas Campbell suffered 'quite horrific' injuries, say murder squad detectives - as they hunt suspect and missing Rolex watches

A 'devoted' dad found dead at his home by a neighbour suffered a 'quite horrific' level of injury, police have revealed. Detectives investigating the death in Mossley, Tameside, of Thomas Campbell, 38, also said 'at least' two 'high-value' Rolex watches he owned were missing and haven't been seen since.

They appealed for the public's help to locate the watches today - saying they were an 'important line of inquiry' - as a man wanted on suspicion of Mr Campbell's alleged murder was named. Speaking at a press conference today Detective Inspector Mark Davies warned the public not to approach John Bellfield, 28, and to call 999 if he is sighted. Bellfield, from Openshaw with links to Lancashire, was described as 'a dangerous individual'.

Mr Campbell 's family have also issued a tribute, describing him as a devoted dad who 'would go out of his way to help his family and friends without a second thought'. The 38-year-old was found dead at a property on Riverside in Mossley, Tameside, on July 3. Three people have been charged with conspiracy to murder in connection with his death.

Det Insp Davies told the Manchester Evening News : "The level of injuries suffered by Thomas were quite horrific. I've been a police officer for a long period of time and I was shocked by the level of injuries that he sustained so clearly anyone who is responsible for committing those injuries, I'd consider to be a violent and dangerous individual. I'd like to reiterate not to approach Bellfield if seen."

Issuing the appeal, he said: "Today we have launched an urgent appeal to find John Bellfield. We want to speak to him on suspicion of the murder of Thomas Campbell in Tameside last month.

"Thomas was found by a neighbour at his home
