Big Brother star Jade Goody's tear-jerking final message to son Bobby Brazier

It's been almost 15 years since Big Brother icon and reality star Jade Goody died from cancer at the age of just 27.

The Essex girl found out she had cervical cancer while taking part in the Indian version of Big Brother, called Bigg Boss, in 2008. Jade made the appearance after previously been dubbed 'the most hated woman in Britain' following a racism row on the previous year's Celebrity Big Brother UK.

However Jade had initially taken part in the third season of 'regular' Big Brother at 20 years old, finishing in fourth place alongside stars Alison Hammond, Kate Lawler and Adele Roberts, reports the Liverpool ECHO. Ahead of Big Brother's return to ITV this evening (Sunday October 8), we take a look back at the life of one of the reality show's most legendary contestants - including Jade's heart breaking final message to her son, Bobby Brazier.

Before she shot to stardom, Jade endured a tough upbringing in South East London as both her parents suffered with drug addiction problems and split when she was just two years old. Jade eventually disowned her dad, Andrew Goody, who served four years in prison for robbery and died of an overdose aged 42 in 2005.

She remained close with her mum, Jackiey Budden, who said she entered Big Brother to escape her life. She said: "We were a twisted-up, mucked-up family. She didn’t go in for fame. She went in to get away from me."
