Delta FA releases draw for Federation Cup
The much-anticipated draws for the 2025 Delta Football Association (DFA) and FLEXIP Federation Cup have been released, with defending champions Warri Wolves FC earning a bye into the quarterfinal stage.
The draw ceremony was held at the Patrick Okpomo Football House, Asaba, setting the stage for an exciting tournament.
In the opening fixture, Young Soccer Academy FC of Issele-Uku will face Morak FC of Warri at the Oleh Township Stadium.
No fewer than 15 clubs registered for the male category, while two female teams—Delta Queens FC of Asaba and Delta Babes FC of Warri—automatically qualified for the final.
Matches will be played at two venues, Oleh and Sapele, with the finals scheduled for Asaba, while in other fixtures, Sapele Lions FC (NLO champions) vs Winsome FC (Delta Football League champions).
Excellent FC of Ughelli vs Morak Football Academy Feeders of Warri. Mighty Wanderers FC of Abraka vs Telectual FC of Warri. Igho FC of Sapele vs Ughelli Rovers FC of Ughelli. Delta Lions FC of Asaba vs Osevan FC of Kwale and Itamah FC of Sapele vs Acts Sports Academy of Kwale.
The tournament officially kicks off with the opening match at the Oleh Township Stadium.
Speaking at the Event, the Chairman of the Delta State Football Association, Chief Godwin Adode, expressed gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his unwavering support of grassroots football development.
“This year’s tournament is another great opportunity for our players to showcase their talents to the international community. The DFA will work with various media houses to highlight the immense football talent that abounds in Delta State,” Adode said.
