Dele Alli sends emotional farewell message to Tottenham fans with Mauricio Pochettino tribute

Dele Alli says Tottenham Hotspur will always be in his heart after joining Everton on transfer deadline day.

The 25-year-old has left Spurs after seven years in north London, having been brought to the club where he made 269 appearances and played in a Champions League final by Mauricio Pochettino.

After penning a contract until June 2024, Alli has paid tribute to his former manager and supporters in an emotional farewell message which he posted on social media.

"It's the end of a chapter but not the book," the midfielder wrote.

"Thank you for all the messages. I've had an incredible seven years at Tottenham and have made some life long friends that now feel like family!

"I want to wish my brothers all the best for the rest of the season and more. To the fans, I want to say thank you.

"We've had some incredible moments together that will stay with me for the rest of my life and I will never forget the amazing support you have given men.

"Playing for you was a dream come true and you will always be in my heart."

It was then when Alli mentioned Pochettino's impact, who snapped him up from MK Dons in February 2015 and is now in charge of Paris Saint-Germain.

"I want to give a special mention to Mauricio and his staff for their trust and guidance in the early part of my career at Spurs, which gave me the confidence and platform to show what I can do," the former England international noted.

"I love you all and wish you the best for the future! Dele out."

Alli is now hoping to rebuild his career under newly-appointed boss Frank Lampard with Everton, who have initially signed him for free but will pay £10million if he makes 20 appearances at Goodison Park.
