Delays grow on the M4 as crash blocks lane - live updates

There are several stretches of queuing traffic on the M4 and growing delays due to roadworks and a multi-vehicle crash near Bridgend.

Traffic monitoring services show heavy congestion heading east around Junction 29 between Cardiff and Newport. There is also congestion on either side of the Brynglas Tunnels at Newport. And there are expected to be delays because of a crash near Bridgend which has left one lane blocked.

Traffic offers responded to the Bridgend incident on the M4 eastbound between J36 Sarn and J35 Pencoed just after 2pm today. One lane is blocked and traffic is queuing.

Traffic Wales tweeted: "Congestion developing on the M4 travelling Eastbound between J36 Sarn and J35 Pencoed due to a collision. Lane one currently closed. Traffic officers are on scene. Expect delays if you're in the area."

Inrix reports the incident involved multiple vehicles.
