Deja vu for Leona Maguire after third round at Tournament of Champions

There was a sense of deja vu for Leona Maguire as she carded a level-par 72 for the third day in a row at the Tournament of Champions in Florida.

Just like Thursday and Friday's opening two rounds, the Cavan golfer was unable to propel her way up the leaderboard and the gap between Maguire - tied for 23rd ahead of Sunday's final day - and tournament leader Lydia Ko has been extended to 12 shots after the New Zealander's four-under 68.

Maguire made a slow start on Saturday, with bogeys on 11 and 13. But the 29-year-old stemmed the tide with a birdie on 14 before tackling the front nine.

A bogey on seven set her back but she bounced back with two consecutive birdies to finish her round where she had started it.

The Tournament of Champions is open to players who won an LPGA event over the past two seasons and does not feature a 36-hole cut.

Maguire won the LPGA Drive On Championship two years ago before adding a second victory on tour last June at the Meijer LPGA Classic.
