Declan Rice reacts to Manchester United speculation and 'crazy' transfer value

Declan Rice admitted the transfer speculation around him is 'crazy' amid interest from Manchester United and others.

The West Ham and England midfielder is a target for United ahead of the summer window, with Chelsea also believed to be keen in bringing back a player they let go as a youngster. Rice's form for the Hammers has been excellent this season, firing them to seventh place in the Premier League and the Europa League semi-finals.

United are eager to bolster their midfield this summer, with Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba expected to depart, along with Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard. It's been a problem area at Old Trafford for a number of years now.

But West Ham boss David Moyes has said he values Rice at more than £100million, increasing that figure to £150million in a later interview. The player himself admitted his teammates tease him about such a price tag, while he tries to ignore the speculation as much as possible.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "To be honest with you I feel like playing well comes with speculation. I've obviously had two, three top seasons with West Ham and top clubs around the country, they're always going to be watching.

"It's not just the same for me, it's the same for every player. I think it's important not to get too carried away with all that.

"We've had a good season here with West Ham. There's been big games where we've had to play in, so my focus has always been on that. If I'd have thought about others things, I'd get carried away and that wouldn't be fair on the team, or the manager.
