Declan Rice reacts to 'crazy' West Ham transfer value amid Manchester United interest

Declan Rice has reacted to his transfer valuation amid interest from Manchester United.

The West Ham midfielder has impressed this season at the London Stadium and is on the transfer radar of United. Manchester Evening News understands that Rice is one of the players United will be looking at in the summer to help bolster their squad, with midfield identified as a priority area..

Speaking to the London Evening Standard, Rice deemed the £100m — which United are believed to be needing to pay in order to secure his services, as mentioned by Hammers boss David Moyes — as 'crazy'. Rice is a talisman for Moyes' side and they won't let him leave without a fight.

He said: "You hear those numbers and for me it is crazy. All I can do is go out there and perform, regardless of the price tag.

"I just need to focus on playing well and performing at the best level I can.”

When asked about his aspirations, Rice was quick to outline his hopes for the future. "As a young player, I see friends that are close to me, big players winning big trophies," he commented.

"You want to be a part of that. You want to be remembered in this career for what you’ve won.

"Hopefully, these moments I am having now can spur me on to be even better." Champions League is a big aim of mine and hopefully one day I can play in it and do well," Rice added.
