Arsenal legend Paul Merson believes West Ham midfielder Declan Rice should complete a big-money move in the next transfer window.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a £100million move to Manchester United since last summer, but manager David Moyes has suggested the Hammers wouldn't accept such an offer. Previous rumours claimed a bid of £120m could release the talent.
And Teddy Sheringham, who played for both West Ham and the Red Devils, thinks Rice could be worth up to £160m. The 27-cap England international has made 158 Premier League appearances since his debut against Burnley in May 2017, scoring six goals.
Rice was also part of the England squad that reached the final of Euro 2020 and won West Ham's Player of the Year award in 2019-20. And he picked up three senior caps for the Republic of Ireland before changing his international allegiance in 2019.
Writing in his Daily Star column, Merson has urged Rice to leave West Ham for a so-called "Big Six" club while he has the chance. The Englishman was dropped by Chelsea's academy in 2014 before earning his stripes at the London Stadium.
