Dean Hoyle issues Huddersfield Town rallying cry as expected Wembley ticket sales revealed

Huddersfield Town chief executive Dean Hoyle has sent a rallying cry to Terriers fans ahead of their Championship play-off final against Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon, with kick off set for 4:30pm.

Carlos Corberan’s side head to Wembley knowing that victory will earn them a place in next season’s Premier League, and Hoyle issued a message from midway through his cycle ride to the capital to raise funds to build a new memorial garden at the John Smith’s Stadium in honour of Daz Hopson, a Town fan who sadly died last month after a battle with cancer.

In a message on the club website, Hoyle wrote: “I’m finishing this piece as I’m about to get back on the bike ahead of day two of the ‘Road to Wembley’ ride in what is clearly a massive week for the club! In truth, we’re repeating this three-day fundraising ride to settle my nerves as much as anything!

“However, it also gives us a great opportunity to create something special in the honour of Daz Hopson that I know will mean a lot to so many of you. Daz’s case really hit home to many of us – to see his incredible fight against a terrible disease – and a memorial in his honour will be very poignant. Day one to Grantham went well, and today we head to Letchworth on another long leg. If you can donate to the ride, please do so HERE and give whatever you can.

“We should arrive at Wembley on Saturday, well ahead of our play-off Final against Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Saturday is another big day for the town, of course, with our stadium partners the Huddersfield Giants playing in the Challenge Cup Final in London.
