Dean Henderson injury update as Djed Spence claim made ahead of Tottenham transfer

Here’s the latest Nottingham Forest news on Sunday, 17 July, 2022.

Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper eased any injury fears over goalkeeper Dean Henderson being substituted in Nottingham Forest’s pre-season friendly draw at Barnsley.

The Manchester United loanee looked a little uncomfortable as he went to take a kick in the first half of the 0-0 draw at Oakwell. And he was replaced soon after by fellow new arrival Wayne Hennessey.

The latter only put pen to paper on Friday, joining the Reds on a two-year deal. But he replaced his fellow summer signing with barely half an hour played against the Tykes.

Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder has revealed that Nottingham Forest did not pursue a permanent move for loanee Djed Spence this summer.

His performances caught the eye of Premier League teams, with Tottenham making their move this summer. It was thought that the Reds had joined Spurs in the race, but it seems that was not the case.

Nottingham Forest have been given a double hint over movement on two possible summer transfers.

The Reds have been heavily linked with Huddersfield pair Lewis O’Brien and Harry Toffolo as Steve Cooper prepares his team for a first Premier League campaign in 23 years.

Reports this week claimed Forest were ready to launch a double bid of £10m to £12m for the Terriers duo. - with Toffolo valued at around £2.5m by Forest due to his being in the final year of his contract, with O’Brien rated in the region of £10m.
