Dean Henderson and Anthony Martial show Manchester United cannot over-correct their error

Manchester United are currently working hard to bring reinforcements into Old Trafford, but they will also need to start selling players as well. Last season a number of players grew unhappy due to their lack of playing time and if the club are to maintain a harmonious dressing room atmosphere under Erik ten Hag in his debut season, this can not be allowed to happen again.

Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Lee Grant and Edinson Cavani all leave the club in a week when their contracts expire, freeing up a large percentage of the wage budget for potential signings. But United need cold hard cash to supplement their transfer budget this summer and there are a number of fringe players still contracted to the club that may allow for this.

There is an issue, however. For years now United have overvalued their players in the transfer market by demanding unrealistic sums that do not reflect their players' abilities. Based on recent reports, however, it seems that the club may have accidentally overcorrected that fault.

Dean Henderson may not be considered a fringe player by many United fans, but it is clear that he wants to be the starting goalkeeper at his club. To that end, the Manchester Evening News understands that United are in talks with Nottingham Forest over a loan move for the player.

Reports vary, with some sources saying it is just a straight loan, but others have stated that United will add an option to buy of around £20m. This seems like a very low valuation of Henderson who the club once stated was worth £40m amid interest from Chelsea only two years ago.
