Deal close: John Percy reveals big Forest transfer development, Cooper will be buzzing - opinion

Nottingham Forest are set to raid Championship play-off final opponents Huddersfield Town for the double signing of Harry Toffolo and Lewis O’Brien.

As per respected journalist John Percy, the Midlands outfit are all-but set to bring the pair to the City Ground, having agreed on what appears to be a bargain £10m fee with the Terries for both men.

Writing on Twitter about the imminent deal, the transfer insider stated: “#nffc have today agreed a double deal with #htafc to sign midfielder Lewis O’Brien and left-back Harry Toffolo. Fee for both players around the £10m mark before add-ons etc. O’Brien and Toffolo due for medicals on Monday”

This follows the news that the newly-promoted side have also completed a deal to sign Costa Rica international Brandon Aguilera from Alajuelense, albeit with the 19-year-old set to return to his homeland to join Guanacasteca on a six-month loan before moving to England.

That arrival of Aguilera – as well as the expected incoming of the two men from the John Smith’s Stadium – will take the club up to ten new additions in the current window already, with manager Steve Cooper having been handed significant backing ahead of the club’s first Premier League campaign since 1999.

In Toffolo and O’Brien, the former Swansea City boss will be adding two figures who starred during Huddersfield’s surge to Wembley last term, with Forest set to rub further salt in the wounds of their showpiece opponents by signing the duo.

The latter man has been courted by clubs across the top-flight over the last few months, with it set to be a notable coup to land a player who has been dubbed “exceptional” by former boss, Carlos Corberan.
