David Tenant among new stars joining Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan for Netflix's The Thursday Murder Club film

David Tenant, Jonathan Pryce and Naomi Ackie have joined the cast for new film The Thursday Murder Club.

Netflix revealed that Richard Osman's best-selling book of the same name was being adapted into a film back in April. Chris Columbus directs the crime-comedy, which will also feature Daniel Mays and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.

Netflix confirmed via a social media post on Tuesday (June 18) that the five actors would be joining the cast. Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie were previously announced for the film.

In the most recent episode of his podcast The Rest Is Entertainment, Osman teased: “There’s some great names and some more names coming as well. I think this is the greatest British cast assembled since the [Harry Potter] movies."

Osman previously said of the adaptaion: “I'm so proud of this book, so it is a dream to see The Thursday Murder Club in such incredible hands. From Chris Columbus, to Amblin to Netflix, there are geniuses everywhere I look. And what a cast. I'm pinching myself.”
