David Prutton shares score prediction ahead of Peterborough United versus Hull City

Peterborough United host Hull City tomorrow afternoon, with the hosts looking to break down their eight-point gap from Championship safety.

Posh come into tomorrow’s clash without a win in their last 10 games, picking up just two points during that time.

Parting company with Darren Ferguson, Peterborough now have Grant McCann at the helm at the Weston Homes Stadium.

McCann was harshly dismissed at Hull, almost immediately after Acun Ilicali’s takeover was completed at the MKM Stadium.

Hull themselves have entered a rough patch of form since McCann’s departure, accumulating juts two points in their last six Championship outings.

The Tigers do remain 13 points clear of the relegation zone, but should they be beaten, then they may start to fear being dragged back into the battle.

Issuing his score prediction via his Sky Sports column, David Prutton believes that McCann’s arrival will come with victory, predicting a 1-0 win for the hosts.

The verdict

Peterborough have proven to be a lot harder to beat at home than on their travels this season, averaging 1.13 PPG at the Weston Homes Stadium.

There is also the chance that the arrival of McCann can create the so-called new manager bounce that has been seen when clubs have changed management within the EFL this season.

Losing last time out to a relegation contender, they will be hoping to avoid another defeat against a side who is currently occupying a spot in the bottom three.

Shota Arveladze has not enjoyed the best of starts at the MKM Stadium, however, the focus does appear to be on the bigger picture.
