David Moyes was fuming after pitch invader in West Ham end ruined their late attack vs Lyon
West Ham drew 1-1 in their controversy filled Europa League match against Lyon on Thursday evening.
The quarter-final first leg clash at the London Stadium was one of the biggest in West Ham’s history.
They were reduced to 10-men in first-half stoppage time when Aaron Cresswell received his marching orders.
Moussa Dembele went to the ground after a challenge from Cresswell. The West Ham defender was adjudged to be their last man and was sent off.
Despite that set-back, they took the lead just after half-time through Jarrod Bowen.
Their lead didn’t last long, though, as Tanguy Ndombele’s goal 14 minutes later restored parity.
West Ham had a good opportunity to score in the 86th minute.
The Hammers broke with the ball and had a good opportunity to find a winner.
However, their attack came to a halt when a supporter in the West Ham end jumped the barriers and ran on to the pitch.
The referee had no choice but to blow his whistle and put an end to the attack. Watch the moment below…
