David Moyes in awkward West Ham 'f*****g hell' moment as boss shuts down reporter who called him 'Moyesy'

West Ham boss David Moyes burst out laughing during his post-match press conference after a reporter got a tad too familiar for his liking.

The Scot was taken aback in the rather awkward exchange at Goodison Park as questions on his side's Premier League defeat to Everton opened with him being referred to as "Moyesy". It's not an unfamiliar moniker for the 59-year-old gaffer but perhaps one he's not used to hearing in a professional capacity - judging by his reaction on Sunday. He was asked: "Moyesy, how do you reflect on that?" The Hammers gaffer, who despite his surprise took it in good spirits, immediately broke into a sustained chuckle. He then quipped back: "Moyesy?! F****** hell, I don't think we're that close!"

Unfortunately, there was little else for the former Toffees manager to laugh about on a rather dismal afternoon for his team on Merseyside. Neil Maupay's second-half goal proved enough to earn Frank Lampard a much-needed victory and compound what's been a poor start to the season for West Ham.

They sit 18th in the Premier League having lost five of their opening seven games, a real surprise considering the Hammers' generally upward trajectory under Moyes over the past couple of seasons. Arresting this early run of alarming form? He's dead serious - just don't call him Moyesy.
