David Miller celebrates 100th T20 in style with landmark T20 series win: 13 years is a long time

Proteas' stand-in captain David Miller may have played in his 100th T20 on Sunday, but it was made special by the team clinching a 90-run win that guaranteed them a maiden T20 series win against England.

Miller, 33, has been in the T20 team for so long, coach Mark Boucher was still playing, retired, went away from cricket and came back as a coach.

Some of his teammates, like Rilee Rossouw and Reeza Hendricks, were still finding their way in domestic cricket, while some were still in primary or high school.

That's some staying power from the Maritzburg College product, who produced a nine-ball 22 that helped South Africa to 191/5.

England, who were dismissed for 101, couldn't get close and it was the complete performance that stayed with Miller the most.

"It's really a privilege to play for your country and I really didn't think I'd play 100 T20 games for my country," Miller said.

"I'm really proud of what has happened and it's been made all the more special by the series coming down to the last game and us winning it in the way that we did.

"I'm really pleased and proud of the way the guys performed today. It does make it a lot more special and I hope I have a lot more in me.

"I wouldn't say another 100 matches because it's taken me 13 years to get here."

While SA's batting came together in the series, it was Tabraiz Shamsi's resilience that struck a chord with Miller.

Miller cut a frazzled figure in the first T20 in Bristol on Wednesday when his best bowler was belted for 49 runs in three overs.
