Darwin Nunez: Liverpool fan's video should silence those doubting him

Darwin Nunez is on the verge of completing a mega-money move to Liverpool from Benfica.

Per Fabrizio Romano, the exciting Uruguayan striker will sign a five-year contract with the Reds in a deal worth around €100 million.

Liverpool will cough up €80 million initially for Nunez, with another €20 million to come in the form of various add-ons.

It’s a signing that Kopites are understandably excited about and will certainly soften the blow of Sadio Mane‘s inevitable move to Bayern Munich this summer.

Nunez enjoyed a magnificent 2021/22 campaign with Benfica. In 41 appearances across all competitions, he netted 34 goals, including six in 10 Champions League outings.

He’s a serious talent and at the age of just 22, the former Almeria forward is only going to get better and better.

However, rival fans have been trying to pour water on the fire when it comes to Liverpool’s impending acquisition of Nunez.

One Manchester United fan even created a video titled ‘Darwin Nunez for €100m is crazy’ which featured clips of him making taking poor touches, playing inaccurate passes and shooting wildly.

There have also been lingering doubts over whether the Uruguay international is merely a poacher and isn’t the kind of striker that will suit Liverpool’s unique playing style.

But after watching another Nunez compilation by @CF_Comps, it’s clear that he’s the complete package.

The video features various clips of him creating chances for teammates and after watching, it’s hard not to think Liverpool are signing a superstar in the making.
