Dartford Women’s goalkeeper Jade Charlton scores stoppage-time equaliser in National League Division 1 South East match against Dulwich Hamlet – Chatham Women score late on in 3-3 draw with Actonians

Goalkeeper Jade Charlton scored a stoppage-time equaliser for newly promoted Dartford Women on Sunday.

Playing their first game in the National League, Dartford were 1-0 down at home to Dulwich Hamlet Women heading into stoppage-time of their Division 1 South East match.

Their equaliser came in the 91st minute after Abbey Davies’ deep free-kick was knocked into the path of the Darts keeper, who got the crucial touch to level the match at 1-1.

Dulwich had a goal ruled out in the opening half of Sunday’s game for offside, while Dartford’s Ellie Dolby went close with a shot late in the half which went wide.

Mya Lewis-Powell and debutant Jessica Frances-Weir both went close to an equaliser before Charlton struck from close range to become the unlikely hero.

Dartford are back in league action next Sunday (August 23) away against Stevenage, and then on Wednesday night (August 26) they host Crystal Palace Under-21s at Princes Park in the WNL Cup.

Chatham Town Women also got their league season under way in the same division on Sunday - and also needed a last-gasp equaliser to earn a draw.

Chats drew 3-3 with Actonians but had taken the lead through Amelia Woodgate early in the match before the visitors levelled.

Amelia Woodgate laid on a goal for twin sister Madison Woodgate early in the second half, but a defensive mix-up led to another equaliser and another mistake saw Actonians go 3-2 up with five minutes left.

It needed a 90th-minute goal to take a point after Karesha Iton picked out Hope
