Darren Moore makes claim about Sheffield Wednesday play-off rivals

The challengers for a top six position in League One has seen many twists and turns in recent weeks.

But Moore is remaining focused solely on the Owls’ form going into the final weeks of the season.

The play-off places are changing on a game-by-game basis at the moment, with teams unable to string together a run of wins that could secure their position in the table.

However, the 47-year old isn’t paying attention to any of this as he is only concerned about his side’s performances. 

“I have no idea with the other results,” said Moore, via The Sheffield Star.

“All I think about is us as a team, as a club, in terms of us doing what we are supposed to do, I don’t look elsewhere.”

Wednesday currently occupy 5th place in the third division table, but there are still five games to go in which anything could happen.

Moore’s side are unbeaten in their last six league games, but that is a run that consists of three wins and three draws showing the stop-start nature of this play-off challenge.

Up next for the Owls is a trip to face MK Dons, who are also in the battle for a top six finish. 

Liam Manning’s side are currently 2nd in the table, but have played a game more than Rotherham United directly below them.

This will be a huge clash that could help determine the fate of both sides’ season.

The two face each other on April 16. 

Remaining focused on yourself is the right mindset for Moore as the other results are out of his hands.

Wednesday have control of their own fate and if they can keep winning then it won’t matter what any other team does.

But this weekend’s clash will be a huge test, with MK Dons in flying form and now hoping to earn an automatic promotion place.
