Danny Hylton sends N’Golo Kante warning ahead of Luton Town vs Chelsea

Danny Hylton proved to be the hero on Saturday, with the 32-year-old’s 67th minute strike earning the Hatters all three points at home to Derby County. 

The veteran forward has been deployed quite sparsely since Luton Town have returned to the Championship, but he now has scored two important goals in two games as the Hatters chase down a second-tier play-off place. 

Hylton, who has enjoyed the vast majority of his career as a striker, has been deployed in a slightly deeper attacking midfielder role over the last couple of games. 

The experienced forward was tasked with preventing Joe Allen from being as influential as he can be against Stoke City last Wednesday, with Hylton coming on from the bench in the same role on Saturday. 

Speaking to FLW about the prospect of being in the starting XI against Chelsea on Wednesday, Hylton said: “I think N’Golo Kante will be quaking in his boots won’t he, over the next few days.

“Whether it is me, or whoever, who knows what the team will be, we are going to go out there and give our all, and yeah we will enjoy the occasion.

Whilst Luton’s recent run of form would suggest that they will provide Chelsea with a real test, Hylton was quick to address the quality that the European champions possess: “We know these players are top, top players. We’re going to enjoy that occasion, but we are going to enjoy running around after them, kicking them, getting amongst them.”
