Danilo suffers horror injury in Nottingham Forest clash as barrier put around stricken star

Nottingham Forest star Danilo had to be taken off the field with a horror injury just eight minutes into the game against Bournemouth that left his teammates visibly shaken.

The Brazilian player collided with Antoine Semenyo in the middle of the pitch and seemed to land awkwardly on his ankle. While Semenyo walked away unharmed, a stretcher was promptly prepared for Danilo. A significant delay ensued as referee Michael Oliver urgently summoned medical help and security shielded the injured player from sight while he received treatment. Forest flags were hoisted by security to provide privacy as physios attended to him.

Danilo received a round of applause as he was stretchered off the City Ground pitch, with Ryan Yates stepping in to replace him after 15 minutes. The 23-year-old joined Forest from Palmeiras in January 2023 in a £16million deal and has scored six times in 46 matches in all competitions.
