Danilo and Dessers lead Rangers transfer crew told to 'step up' as 6 rebuild imports braced for feeling like no other

Strike pairing Cyriel Dessers and Danilo are amongst a group of seven new Rangers signings told to up the ante.

Only Leon Balogun, Dujon Sterling and Jack Butland are omitted from the squad that includes other imports into Ibrox this summer, after Kieran Dowell, Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima and Jose Cifuentes also arrived. Ahead of the Premiership battle with the champions, former Ibrox striker Steven Thompson insists each of the new men he's named have arrived from clubs where the expectation to deliver is not on the same level as their Rangers duties. He told the BBC: "The biggest problem Beale has at the moment is that I'm not sure he knows his best team yet. And the jury is out on the new signings.
